Friendship Gratitude- Lisa
I don’t even know where to begin.
I would describe you as the life of the party, fun, care-free, bubbly, extremely social, and 100% real.
I know you never had a sister and I think God knew that eventually we would cross paths so that you would have me and I hope that I am what you believed a sister would be if we were blood related.
Just because you are related by blood, doesn’t mean you love each other. Twinkie, Twinnie, Twin, I love you so much, more than I can ever express in words, you are much more than a friend to me. You are my family in so many ways, you are my soul mate as in the quote I sent you, “we are forever.” And we love each other by choice, not because we are forced to.You are the one person that completely loves me and stands by me in all my craziness. And we both admit, we are bat sh*t crazy or as I like to call it, passionate. And I know that you trust me with all your secrets, your fears, and there are no filters when we are together.
When we first met, we were young, we had no worries in life expect our love of Miley and Beiber, but let’s be honest, nothing much has changed. But as the years have gone by, our friendship has changed for the better. Our relationship has been tested by so many life factors, I don’t even know where to begin, but that has only made our friendship even stronger.I know you better than you know yourself and vice versa. I am not 100% sure, but I am 99.9% sure I know your likes, dislikes, your habits, and mannerisms better than anyone else in the world. And I know you know me so well.
You know my moods just by seeing what I post, even without a word. You know when I’m hurt without hearing my voice. We can talk about something very serious one moment to something like the cost of gas all within a few sentences. You have been there through every heart-ache I have had to date, every complaint about my work situations, life situations, and not understanding why people won’t leave me alone. You have had to teach me many life lessons because I am not that savvy about much, especially when it comes to what the “cool” kids say. You have listened to me after I panicked over Ebola and never stopped listening to CNN 24/7. You laughed when I bought 10 cases of water and figured out my escape plan if it hit here.
I am grateful for the following reasons:
- We never fight. All of our fights last a hot minute and it usually revolves around two things. Bad picture angles or you being hangry. Remember in Greece I was so scared, I kept offering you crackers nonstop?
- You are the BEST, absolutely best travel partner in the world. No one else travels like us.
- We both struggle with cleaning. I have a lot of room to lose things, but I don’t know where your stuff goes with just one room.
- You make me laugh all the time, even on days that I didn’t feel like I had a reason to laugh. You always made sure I did like dressing up as a tomato and the fact that it got more likes than going to Miss USA. Twin, it’s been 34 minutes, not 5!
- You witness most of my moments where I am just breathing and walking and men come chasing after me, you’ve even had to interject with a few of them.
- For pictures, my bad side is your good side, so we know exactly how to pose.
- When my mom asked you if you were scared of going to Turkey, you told her no because you trust me with your life. That is a huge responsibility that you trust me that much. Twin and you know I would never let anything happen to you.
- As long as you’ve known me, I’ve pretty much had some type of serious relationship, and even when you didn’t, we both act like we are still single.
- We both can talk forever; the only moment we are quiet is taking pictures or going on social media. I loved after my mom met you at my house, she called me and said, “OMG Lisa talks a lot. Between you and Lisa I don’t know who talks more.” That’s why we always struggle with our battery dying.
- We trust each other so much, you never even question when I plan a vacation. And we never worry about paying each other back because we know the money will come. I mean, we are still working out payment for Japan back in November of 2015!
- The only time we are quiet is to be on social media.
- No one loves pictures as much as you and me and we know when we are in picture mode, please let us be. Just let us take our pictures or me, selfies in peace. We HATE photobombers.
- I love that neither of us know kilometers.
- Our highlight was to be famous on the U of U page and it happened!
- We both are so social, we talk to everyone and make friends everywhere we go.
We still call each other Twinnie, when in reality, we are not twins. We are actually very opposite and here being a few reasons how:
- I have a grown up job, but you never want to have a grown up job. I crunch numbers, boring!
- Overtime, you have controlled your temper, but you still have a hot temper. I have a temper too, but 90% it stays under control.
- You are a super picky eater and I will try anything when it comes to food, except maybe not bugs.
- I watch CNN and the news religiously. You love Disney Channel shows.
- I love to sleep. You never sleep, but on trips you sleep a lot in the day. And of course we capture all the random sleeping moments.
- I LOVE putting on make-up and Twinnie you honestly could care less. I even love putting it on others.
- I snore, you don’t snore. And god bless your heart for dealing with all my snoring on all my trips. The worst was in Greece when I was sick with the bronchi and a runny nose.
- I have always dated older men and you always dated younger.
- I am a super germ freak. You accept me for it. Even on trips, I’m like Twin are you going to take a shower? No, ok, but at least I asked lol.
- We know we never will fight over guys…ever. Our tastes are so different. I like mine older, dark-skinned, dark features, and with lots of hair lol.
- You never get sick, and I get the bronchi regularly.
- Where I am weak, you are strong. I am a really good planner and research; you are really good at keeping track of expenses. I keep telling you, you would have been a great accountant. I just forecast, I can help predict spending, but I’m not good at keeping tabs on dollars.
- I am the worst best driver, but you are actually a really good driver. You are great at u-turns, backing out of really long spaces, and driving in general. I was super impressed at your ability to drive on the opposite side of the road in Caymans.
- I have no fear when it comes to adventurous things, but you are so scared of heights, but yet, I’m scared of walking on a suspension bridge that I can see the ground and you are merrily hopping along. And you get scared of being in a mini-submarine.
- You LOVE pets and I am deathly allergic.
- I love facts, history, stock market stuff, you are perfectly fine without it.
- I am absolutely horrible with directions, but you are amazing and get us everywhere we need to go. And you can read maps!
I love you Twin and I know that eventually I will have to share you with someone else and vice versa. But I hope that nothing ever changes even when someone comes into our lives. In my perfect world, all four of us would just travel the world together. They can go to manly things, while we take pictures.
