When did I start traveling?
Most people dream of traveling to all their bucket list places, but only a handful of people do it.
I did not take my first international trip until I was 24 years old to China, which is where I met my best friend and traveling partner, Lisa. I have always loved to travel, but most of our trips growing up with my family was domestic.
So how did I start traveling the world?
It first started with a my first broken heart and the best way to mend a broken heart is to getaway. I know as cliché as that sounds, traveling helped me rediscover myself and forget my past. But my traveling was very limited because I was so busy with my job.
Then life came to a halt when I got into a major car accident. A girl ran a stop sign at over 50 miles an hour and t-boned me on my side. At that time, as I was getting cut out of the car and taken to the hospital, I really did not understand how my life had changed.
The doctor, police, and EMT kept asking how I survived this accident without more physical damages or death. They kept telling me to count my blessings.
This was the moment that everything changed. I made all those places that I said, “One day I’ll go there” a reality. I put together a bucket list, shared it with Lisa, and it has been an endless adventure ever since.
